Jacquelynne Steves

A Celebration & A Giveaway!

I have projects in 2 magazines right now! One I knew about…. and the other was a surprise!

fall2016publications-jacquelynnestevesprojects

The first is in the Fall 2016 Issue of Quilts from Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks. It is called Last Summer Breeze and it’s based on my block called Starlight (which appears in Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Volume 13):

starlightblock-jacquelynnesteves

I wanted to make a star block with no tricky Y seams, and this is it! Look at this quilt you can make- without the Y seams, it’s easy enough for a beginner! Stunning results, don’t you think? This quilt pattern is in the Fall 2016 issue:

quiltmakerfall2016-jacquelynnestevesproject-lastsummerbreeze

Now, the second magazine was a surprise! I had designed a pillow called Redbird Roost which appeared in Quilts and More magazine last winter… then I found out that it is also being featured in this year’s issue of Better Homes and Gardens Holiday Crafts issue- I guess they really liked it! So, if you missed your chance last year to get this pattern in Quilts and More (which can be tricky, because the Quilts and More issues always sell out!)- here is your chance again!

bhgholidaycrafts2016-jacquelynnestevesproject-redbirdroost

Look for both of these issues on newsstands NOW, before they sell out!

To celebrate, I will giveaway one copy of each issue! That’s right- 2 lucky winners will each win a copy of ONE of the issues (chosen randomly.)

Here are the rules! ‘Cause we need to be all official like that!

  • *Please comment on this post and tell me: What is your favorite autumn beverage? (For those of you in the southern hemisphere, tell me what is your favorite Spring beverage!)
  • *Comment by 11:59 pm Eastern Time (NYC time) on Tuesday, October 4, 2016.
  • *Open to U.S. and International readers.
  • *Your email must be readily available either in your profile or in the comment. If I choose your name but I cannot immediately email you, I will choose another name.
  • *2 winners will be chosen at random. Each will receive one issue (which issue you receive will be decided randomly.)

Good Luck!!

Have A Creative Day-HoneyBeeBlock_JacquelynneSteves

Enjoyed watching several of your videos this cool North Carolina morning. Thank you for giving your art to those of us who enjoy it a great deal.

I love iced tea year round, anywhere I am. Went to London some years ago and got so thirsty for iced tea. I asked in the pub if they could make me iced tea. They said sure, and before I left I had three glasses! Then they charged me for 6 cups of tea (2 per glass)! That was the most expensive iced tea I’ve ever had! But, well worth it and the story has provided lots of laughs! By the way, I’m in Texas!

Hmmm…I greatly enjoy hot teas, especially Harney & Sons Holiday Tea and Pumpkin Spice Tea. But to be honest, I have been known to drink the Holiday Tea even during the summer when it’s hot outside. I like Godiva Hot Chocolate too and again, not just when it gets cold out. I’m just odd like that I guess.

Congratulations on being published in two magazines! I’ve noticed that BH&G publications are notorious for using the same projects multiple times. Which means, you might just find yourself being surprised again in the future:-).

My favorite Fall beverage is Hot Apple Cider, but I have to be careful drinking too much of it because I’m diabetic and it can have a lot of sugar in it if I’m not careful. I prefer to make it myself at home, that way I can control what is in it and avoid all the extra added sugars. :-) I also drink a cup of hot tea every evening…my favorite is the Honey Chamomile. I drink it in the winter and summer. I love tea!!!!
