It’s finally my turn for the A Flair for Fabric blog hop! Many readers have already won fabric and copies of the book… read on to find out how you can win, too….

Last year, a bunch of designers from Henry Glass Fabrics teamed up with the good folks at Martingale books to put together A Flair for Fabric, a book with 14 gorgeous projects you will love to make! And best of all, all of the proceeds are going to be donated to the Red Cross!

The book has projects like quilts, table runners, wall hangings, and pillows. There is truly something for everyone!

Below is the project that I designed, a quilt called “Delightful.” The daisies and fresh palette remind me of a delightful summer day. What do you think??

The book also has lots and lots of designer tips for selecting fabrics for your projects. For example, something to consider when choosing your fabrics is, do you want the project to have a lot of energy, or be more subtle and soothing? For a project that “pops”, choose fabrics which have a lot of contrast and differing values. If you want a project where the blocks kind of “melt” into each other, creating a calm feeling, choose fabrics which are similar in color and value. As you can see in my quilt above, I generally prefer quilts with “pop” and in which you can see the pattern of the blocks.
