OK, so now that all of that is out of the way- The fun part!! We have another giveaway this month, so be sure to read down to the bottom of the post for details….

For this block, you are going to learn my “birthday cake” method for making pieced triangle corner units. See that “striped” triangle on each block? We are going to have fun with that part!

The photo at the top of the post shows my appliqued block- I really love the cheerful happy colors in it!

Here is my embroidered version- at first I thought I’d get bored doing all of the embroidery with just a single color of floss, but actually, not having to change your thread color makes the stitching go even quicker!

And I really love this modern hydrangea print which I used for the centers of my pieced only block:

Isn’t it amazing how different all of the blocks looks so different, using different fabrics and methods? That’s why I love seeing everyone’s blocks- because they are all so different and beautiful! Each reflects the person who made it, and sometimes the person that they are making it for.

Have you been checking out my Facebook Page and our group Pinterest page to see the blocks that people have been making? You can also post on Instagram, please use the hashtag #CozyAfternoonQuilt and mention me @jacquelynnesteves.

The Giveaway! This month, our lucky winners will receive this wonderful pattern pack- what cute little projects to make as summer winds to a close. I especially love the Mad About You quilt because the flowers are dimensional, and they feature covered buttons (I LOVE covered buttons- just another way to use up some bits of pretty fabric!)
