OK! So remember, there are 3 options for these blocks- piecing only, applique, or embroidery. I have made a sample for each method! Each one is very different, but I don’t think I could choose a favorite. First, my appliqued block:
You will notice that I added just a little bit of embroidery to my appliqued block- the flower needed a stem and the tea label needed a string! If you don’t want to do embroidery, you could just leave that out.
Here is my embroidered block, done in grays and blues:
And here is my pieced-only block. I used a really cool, modern floral for the center square:
If you feel like getting really ambitious this month, you could make a bunch of these blocks, and make a quilt like this:
Both of the above quilts were made just with Block #3! And actually, you don’t have to be all that ambitious, because the blocks go together very quickly.
Have you been checking out my Facebook Page and our group Pinterest page to see the blocks that people have been making? You can also post on Instagram, please use the hashtag #CozyAfternoonQuilt and mention me @jacquelynnesteves. I really love seeing how different and beautiful everyone’s blocks are! Great job, everyone!
And of course, we have a blog hop with giveaways this month… You DO NOT have to be participating in the Block of the Month to enter. The prize this month is this digital pattern pack:
I am NOT giving it away on my blog- to enter, you must visit the blogs below to enter to win the pattern pack (that’s 6 chances to win, folks!) While you are there, you can see how the bloggers are progressing with their blocks as well.
Now, let’s get sewing!
