Where I live, we have another month until school starts, but I heard that some places start next week! I can’t believe we are talking Back-to-School already! But, whether you are a little sad, or super relieved (LOL!), the school year must start soon. I’ve rounded up some quick, easy and cute back to school sewing and craft projects for you to sew- hopefully, they will make the first day of school a little more fun, AND they will give you a chance to dig into your stash and use up some fabric (so you can go buy more.)

So there you have it- fun and easy back-to-school projects you can make!
POST NOTE- By the way, for those of you who are wondering why we are talking about hot air balloon rides and birthdays in the comments, it is in reference to something I was talking about in my last newsletter. Want to get the inside scoop? Sign up here.
Take that hot air balloon ride. My husband gave me this for my 40th birthday. Hard to believe that it was 30 years ago.!!! Not scary. You just glide through the air and it is so quiet.
Have a Happy Birthday.
But I hate heights and feeling out of control- both reasons why I’m not sure I’ll ever take a hot air balloon ride!
my husband bought me a hot air balloon ride for our anniversary 5 years ago, it was the most blissful and serene experience, enjoy it and have a happy birthday
Lesleyann- Not sure that I’ll be doing the hot air balloon ride- maybe we will just go to the beach instead?
This year, for Mother’s Day my daughter took us all to the beach for a week. All being her, my son-in-law, my grandson, and me. We are all dedicated beach bums so it was great. I have always wanted to ride in a hot air balloon and so has my grandson. Next year he will be 23 and I will be 70. I think a ride together will be the perfect gift. We all have our peaceful places. Which ever is yours, go and enjoy!
Thanks so much, J. Love your blog and your e-mails!!!! Have a good one!!!
Thanks Rosemarie! Hope you are enjoying your weekend!
Love that shark pencil pouch but I’d like to make one for my eye or sunglasses. Imagine the look on faces when I whip a shark out of my purse. LOL
Carol- Oh that is such a cute idea! Make me one too, while you are at it, lol!
First, Happy Birthday to you, may you have a most wonderful day. Secondly, all the school sewing project are just perfect. I intend to make several of them for my granddaughter. Thank you very much. Bonnie M.
Thank you for the birthday wishes, Barbara! I hope your granddaughter enjoys the projects (I’m sure she will!)
Just found your website through Pinterest and I’m looking to purchase the shark pencil pouch pattern. I’m not finding it…what category can I find it?
Thanks so much! Love your work!
