This is such a cute scrappy quilt! It finishes at about 42″ square- it’s easy to make it bigger by simply adding a few more blocks and lengthening the vertical strips! It’s also a quick project, since there are a minimal number simple pieced blocks alternated with strips of fabric- that means less piecing and faster finishing!
I originally made this for my husband’s cousin’s baby- we knew the baby would be a “little sister” for Ella, but we didn’t know what the baby’s name would be (Holly!!) So, I named the quilt “For Ella’s Sister.” Here are Ella and Holly when they visited us from England a few years ago:
Because this is so quick and easy, it makes a great gift or charity quilt! Use any fabrics you like.
