Thanks for signing up for our latest Block of the Month – I’m sure you are going to enjoy it!
If you are having trouble locating your email with the Block of the Month pattern, or if the pattern is not readable, please read and try these suggestions. If, after you have tried the suggestions below, you are still having difficulty, please email me for further help. When you email, please be very specific as to the trouble you are having. Thanks!!
Please note that when the Block of the Month/Sew Along event is over, the links to the patterns will no longer be active. Please save the PDFs to your computer, and/or print them out, for future reference (see tips below for saving and printing PDFs.)
I signed up for The Sew Happy BOM, but I did not get an email with the links. Help!
1) Check your Spam folder for my emails – some email providers will automatically route emails to spam folders based on certain words in subject lines or other criteria.
2) If you are a Gmail user, please check your “Promotions” email folder - Gmail routes emails they consider “promotional” into this folder and many emails may be “hiding” there. The “Promotions” folder can be checked from the Gmail website by clicking on “more” on the left side and then “Promotions”. If you want to try to keep future emails from being routed to "Promotions", then drag the email back to the "Primary" tab and select "yes" to make that change permanent. For more information, click here.
3) Please double check that you were successful in signing up for the email list – click here to try and sign up again.
4) To make sure that future emails from mhttps://jacquelynnesteves.com/the-secret-fairy-garden-free-block-of-the-month/e are not routed to Spam, please add my email address to your email address book and/or safe sender list – this should keep future emails out of Spam. Please add comments@jacquelynnesteves.com
5) If you still cannot find your email, then email us comments@jacquelynnesteves.com and we will check your details and get back to you.
The finished Sew Happy Quilt is approximately 36.5" x 36.5".
How does this work?
Once you sign up for the Sew Along, you'll get emails per the release schedule that include instructions for the project. You can make the project at your own pace and at your own time - we have people participating from all over the world!
As you complete each block feel free to share your progress in our Sew Quilty Friends Facebook group - you can also ask questions in the group and get lots of help along the way!
When will I receive my patterns?
The monthly patterns/instructions will be emailed the second Monday of the month starting May 8, 2023 - usually by 10am EDT.
If you are a Member of The Art of Home Club, you'll be able to download your patterns directly from the Club website (on the Block of the Month page) - Club Members usually can find their patterns a day before they are emailed to everyone else (a Club "perk"!).
Fabric Kits Available for Purchase (while supplies last)
Monday April 3rd - Fabric Requirements
Monday May 8th - Block 1
Monday June 12th - Block 2
Monday July 10th - Block 3
Monday August 14th- Block 4
Monday September 11th - Finishing Instructions
I received the previous block, but have not received the most recent one. Where is my pattern?
If you signed up for our emails but didn't get it, please check your spam/junk mail folder for the email (or if using Gmail, check your "promotions" folder). Please also make sure that you are signed up. I do sent out some "newsletter" type emails, 2-4 times per month. If you unsubscribed from one of these emails, then you are no longer on the list and will need to sign up again (you can do this on the Sew Happy BOM page).
If you still cannot find your email, then email us comments@jacquelynnesteves.com and we will check your details and get back to you.
How long will the patterns be available?
The patterns links will be available (via email) while the Block of the Month is active (May-September) and will remain active for a short time after we finish the Project. However I strongly suggest that you download the patterns each week and save them in a safe place (I also recommend printing them out as a "back up").
Saving the email is not enough - you must save the PDF pattern file. Once the pattern links are deactivated, we DO NOT send out patterns or links for lost, damaged, or misplaced files, as we will be offering them for sale.
Is it really free?
Yes! All you need to do is sign up for our BOM email list, and we'll email you when the units are released so that you can download.
In order to participate in the Sew Happy Block of the Month you'll need to sign up for our project Email list (being on my general newsletter list is not enough - you must sign up separately for this project). Sign up on our Sew Happy sign up page
Do you ever share my information with third parties?
NEVER! I hate spam, as I’m sure you do! I only use your email to keep in contact with you regarding my latest news and offers, and of course to send you your free patterns.
I’ve clicked on the link, but the PDF is unreadable- it’s full of weird characters and ??? marks. Is there something wrong with the file?
We have found that some people using Mac's or iPads have had this issue. Here are some solutions which have helped others:
Shut down and restart your computer.
Please make sure that you are using the latest version of Adobe Reader.
Try saving the PDF file to your computer, and then open the file from your computer, rather than trying to read or print the PDF from your internet browser.
It may be readable from your phone- if this is the case, you can use a wireless printer connection to print out the pattern.
How do I save PDFs to my computer?
Right click on the link in the email (or right click on the link on the webpage), and select “Save Link As” and then choose the location on your computer to save the file to.
Or
Open the PDF by clicking on the link – once the PDF file has opened in your browser or in Adobe Reader, chose “Save” (depending on which browser you use, the “save” command may be in different places- it may be in the top menu bar, or may appear when you hover your mouse in the lower right corner of the screen). You will need to choose the location on your computer where you want to save the file to.
How do I open PDF files which have been saved on my computer?
Find the location where the PDF file is saved.
Double click on it- this will open it in your default PDF viewer.
It is best to open your PDF in Adobe Reader. If this is not your default PDF viewer, right click on the PDF file name and choose “Open With,” then select “Adobe Reader” from the list of options.
I don’t need to print the entire pattern- how do I print only certain pages of a PDF?
Open the file in Adobe Reader (see above.)
On the top menu bar, choose “File”>”Print” OR click the printer icon.
After Printer Dialog Box opens, choose “Pages” in the “Pages to Print” section. Type in the page numbers that you want to print.
Click on “Print” button in lower right of Printer Dialog Box
