A little “love note” here…. You all continue to amaze me with your kindness and concern… What a lucky girl I am to have you all on my side!
We managed to get away to the beach for the weekend. A little change of scenery and change of pace can do wonders for your outlook- I am feeling better.
My grandmother appears to be making tiny improvements, despite the fact that we were told she probably wouldn’t survive the massive stroke she had a couple of weeks ago. She even gave a little chuckle to a funny story that my sister-in-law told to her the other day. As for my own health issues, I discovered that my mother was diagnosed with hypothyroidism around my age, and I am wondering if this could be part of the reason I have been feeling run down and achy for quite a while now. That, and the fact that I know I should be eating better and exercising more (yuck! ha ha.) As for my business disappointments, well, those come with the territory, I suppose.
But here is what I know:
I love to play with my watercolors and pencils and turn a blank sheet of paper into something beautiful. I love to sew bits of fabric and thread and trim into something pretty and useful. And I love to experiment in my kitchen and turn my pantry contents into yummy meals and treats for my family to enjoy. This will not change. And even if I never become a millionaire doing it, that’s OK because
I can’t not do it. It is who I am.
All of that being said, I wanted to share a bit of “happy” art I have been working on lately. I have been thinking about happy little houses and happy little gardens…. I’m not quite sure yet where exactly this art is going… but it’s been fun working with bright cheerful colors, creating a bit of a “fantasy” world- don’t you wish you could live in a house like this?
Or maybe have a visitor like this in your garden:
As I said, I don’t really know where I’m going with this, but doodling around has been fun. And we all need a little more fun, don’t we?
What are you doing today that is fun? What is it that you simply can’t not do??? Check in with yourself today and make sure you do something that reflects the core of who you are, of who God created you to be. You owe it to yourself, to the world, and to your Maker to be yourself and to be the best version of yourself you can be today (and just today- let tomorrow worry about itself….)
