Happy Little Things BOM Fabric Requirements

Have you signed up for the FREE Happy Little Things Block of the Month yet?? Just click here.

This year, we are including instructions for TWO different colorways- we are going to “max out” your creativity on this one! There is the modern “Desert” color way, with green, navy, peach & coral, and the traditional “Cottage” color way, with pink, red, pale yellow, light blue and black.

You have several options for making these blocks. In months 1 through 4, we will be making the blocks. There are options for piecing only, machine/hand applique, or embroidering the blocks. You can:

–Machine or hand applique the motif in the center of the block (patterns provided.)

–Hand embroider the motif in the center of the block (patterns provided.)

–Use the white fabric in the center as shown, leave out the applique and embroidery altogether, and use that negative space to showcase some fabulous quilting.

–Use the floral fabric (the same as the border) or a novelty fabric as your block center, and leave out the applique and embroidery.

–Optional purchase preprinted panels for the center of your blocks– Just sew preprinted panels for the centers of your blocks!

Finished quilt size approximately 43 1/2” x 53 1/2”.

I primarily use my iPad because it is just handier. I assume in order to down load The Happy Little Things block of the month I will need to use our computer. I am not sure how to go about doing that. I am 75 now so this computer stuff doesn’t come easy for me. Could you possibly give me a crash course how to o this? Again, I am so excited about the possibility of doing this block of the month. I have never done one and yours really give me the boost to do so. Sincerely Kathaleen

After you click for the pdf, click the box with an arrow on the upper right and choose save to iBooks. That makes it easy to access.

We had a local shop hop last week. I decided to buy fabric at each shop for this quilt but, not knowing really how much I needed and also not wanting to have to travel an hour or more to get more if I needed it, I got too much. I think I can now make 2 of these quilts!! LOL :)

I am thinking I may want to make my quilt bigger and was wondering how big the center squares are? Please designate it at finished or unfinished for the size.
I was thinking I might want to make mine with 6 squares and would need to figure out much more fabric I would need.
