I have just become a young grandmother ( age 50) and am so new til everything with quilting. I have always had a heartfelt dream of being one of those amazing crafters whom give a gift made of love and something that will be cherished for many many many years. I have just beaten my 3. cancer treatment and want to take that achievement and make a quilt with butterflies and pink roses, the way that my daughter has decorated her nursery. With the medicine costs that they are sooo expensive then there is nothing left to create this heirloom. We have never had the opportunity to learn about quilting because it was never something that they did. Great traditions have to start somewhere and sometime:0)
I enjoy your instructions and the beautiful creations you have on the website. It makes a non creative mother believe in the impossible dream of sewing something fabulous from scratch

I would love to learn paper-piecing in 2020. I am an accomplished piecer and quilter, both hand and machine. As a math major in school and an accountant by trade math is not an issue for me–and I logically use those math skills in drafting patterns. For some reason, though, paper piecing simply baffles me…it defies logic and I get stumped at every juncture. (I hope confession really IS good for the soul…lol).

I would like to paper piece. I’ve never even tried it, and I think that is ridiculous. If I try it and don’t like it, that’s one thing. But to avoid it because I think it’s too hard or that I won’t be good at it, after two decades of quilting, is just juvenile. So, I’m going to change that in 2020!

What a great question (which is only fitting, for such a great giveaway)! This year I’d really like to tackle my quilting skills. I feel like I piece well, I love applique, I enjoy a variety of different techniques and processes in the construction of a flimsy, but I get stuck at the quilting part. I have a LOT of unfinished projects because of that. I don’t want to just do straight lines and stitch-in-the-ditch quilting, but it’s scary! LOL! And I just can’t afford to send things out to be quilted by other. I’d like to tackle the fear, finish some quilts, and feel more confident in my abilities and finishes. :)
Sure hope I win some of the lovely prizes

Lots of laughter comes out of my sewing room these days. I am loving every minute.
P.S. I forgot to say that her birthday is in September and our goal is to be finished by then. I have never worked with such little fabric bits, and she is learning a love for sewing. I told her when she is eight, I will teach her to use the featherweight. ?? ? ??

No buttons on them for safety reasons. The backing is black fabric as the poor vision child may be able to see a battery lighted toy and crawl or react to it. This is a big job for one person and hope you can provide some ideas on enriching attachments to assist and enrich the children and their families. I so appreciate this blog.

They were simple designs because I am not too good at hard patterns yet. I have a granddaughter that will be getting married next spring and I want to make her a beautiful Wedding Ring Quilt. I have never made the curved pieces and have no idea how to put them together, so that is the one thing I would like to do this year 2020.

One new thing I’d like to learn is to be precise in my quilting while still “zooming” through the instructions. I start out with great intentions, but after a while, I want to see what it looks like, so I sew faster. And faster. And faster. And as I get faster, I’m less precise. Maybe there’s no cure for this, but that’s what I’d like.
First of all I would like to thank you for the patterns you share with us. You are very generous.
In 2020 I would like to quilt again. After a few years of having a ‘quilting-dip’, I started in januari with a single block and it felt really good.
Thanks for giving the chance of winning. ?
What a wonderful give away. Lots of special and varied products with fun colors and different techniques to try. Thanks for putting this together.
I am continuing on my quest to finish some of the UFO’s in my sewing room. Making good progress, but that’s what I said last year!!
In 2020 I will be learning wet felting and needle felting.
