Hello, everyone! As I sit and write this, I am barefoot, have the windows open and I hear the birds chirping. No- I haven’t actually moved to Florida like I’ve been threatening! We are having an early spring here in the northeast, with temperatures about 20 degrees above average today! It’s supposed to be in the high 70’s for a few days this week, and I am loving it!! This is my kind of weather.
I’ve been working on a project which feels really spring-y/summer-y… It will be my project as guest designer over the Patchwork Posse Online Quilt Group in May. When I was thinking about what kind of project I wanted to do for this, I had soooo many ideas… I had a hard time narrowing it down. I spent a couple of hours just wondering what should I do?? Because sometimes, too many options can be overwhelming… and I had, like a million ideas going through my head and scribbled out on paper. And then I just got this idea, clear as day, and doodled it out… and I just LOVE it!
Here’s a little snippet:
So this project will be available in May exclusively as part of the Patchwork Posse Online Quilt Club. You can sign up here and get ALL of the 2015 projects in addition to the 2016 projects!!
We will be releasing the March pattern for the Small & Sweet Mini Quilt Club next week! I got mine back from the quilter last week… here is your sneak peek:
(Don’t you want to make this for your Spring table?! C’mon- you know you do! wink wink…)
Michele and I are offering a coupon this week for the club! Get 20% off a club membership (that’s almost $5!) by clicking here and using the code spring16. Don’t forget- you can also buy memberships as a gift! If you would like a gift membership for someone, just email Michele at quilting.gallery@gmail.com and she’ll take care of it for you. Coupon expires at 11:59 pm on Monday March 14.
And guess what? That same code, spring16, will knock 20% off of Michele’s Mystery Mini Club as well! Just click here.
I’ve been slowly getting my Splendid Sampler blocks done! The ones I have done have been really fun and I’ve enjoyed it immensely. This block is called Simple Simon (designed by Celine Perkins) and it was released back at the end of February:
It’s one of those blocks that you sew together, cut up, and sew back together again! It was so cute to start with, I wondered if I had the nerve to cut it up!!
If you would like to sign up for the Splendid Sampler free sew along, please click here. You can also see my first block here. I’m going to try to post a couple more blocks in the next week or so.
Saturday was my husband’s 50th Birthday. I tried really hard to think of something special for him (Hot Air Balloon Ride? Nope! I HATE heights and I didn’t think he’d want to go up by himself!) A trip?? (we went to Florida in February and have another big trip scheduled for April…) A singing telegram….??? I finally settled on a big family dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant. This was his reaction to the huge piece of birthday cake they set in front of him:
I hope you are having a creatively beautiful day, where ever you are today!
