I was going to title this post “Slowing Down,” but as I started writing it, I realized that that would be ridiculously untrue! I think I must look like a duck- calm on the surface, but look a little closer and my feet are paddling a mile a minute! Here’s what’s been going on in the studio and in our home:
We went to the tree farm Thanksgiving to get our tree. You ride out on the tractor, choose your tree, then they cut it for you and put it on the tractor to take back to your car.
The tree and all of the decorations got put up that weekend:
I got a new wreath for the fireplace mantel- not what I’d generally choose, but I wanted to add some *sparkle*! I like adding fresh greenery (cut from our yard) to silver and pewter containers for the holidays.
I have several embroidery projects going right now! These are all for The Art of Home Club, the snowflake was from November which I haven’t finished yet, the hearts are for December, and the flowers are for January. (I’ve got some helpers lined up to help me make samples, because it’s very clear that I can’t possible get all of them done in time!)
I finished designing the 2017 Block of the Month, and I ordered the fabric for the kits!!! I think this may be my favorite BOM design so far! Right now, we are planning on starting block #1 in August (kits will go on sale around May or June.) I’ve been making some sample blocks (these are fabrics from my stash for “practice” blocks, not the actual kit fabrics.)
Speaking of planning, I’ve spent the last week or so really planning out the year. As I said, it may look like there’s not a lot going on- I haven’t really been posting photos of works in progress, but rest assured, I have lots of fun planned for you for 2017!!!
And finally, the lucky winners of last week’s Maggie’s First Dance Block of the Month Grand Prize Giveaway were Linda and Deb!
