In the studio this week… I’ve spent A LOT of time on my computer, laying out the pages for my emagazine, which will come out next week! While it’s a creative process for me not only to develop projects and recipes for the issue, it is equally creative for me to get all of the layouts done. However, it doesn’t make for very pretty photos for the blog- unless you want to see photos of my monitor?? Maybe something like this?
I have managed to do a little sewing lately… I am working on a couple of projects which I have been working on for literally years… Just a few stitches at a time should get them done eventually:
The above photo is a wool quilt which I started a few years ago. I have just one or 2 borders left to do! And then I can get this UFO (unfinished object!) off my list… I was determined to get it finished last year… I even put “2013” on it… now I guess I will have to pull off that “3” and replace it with a “4” (and hopefully, not a “5”!!!)
The above photo is a wedding quilt which I started 2 years ago. Every single block has embroidery and applique… my goal is to get it done by the couple’s 10th anniversary, ha ha.
I did manage to get a quilt off to the quilter! It’s for an Australian magazine and it will be published some time next year. Although I can’t show you the whole thing, I can show you some of the blocks:
Now… I need your help. I cannot for the life of me think of a good name for this quilt! I have some kind of brain block! So I will take all of your suggestions in the comments below! If I choose your suggestion, I’ll send you a little gift!
How about Peacocks and Paisley?
“Birds of a Feather”
(The peacock feathers looks so nice with the paisley and the other fabrics so I thought birds of a feather flock together.)
Cool Comfort … warm on a summers evening and cool looking during the day.
“ALL A-FLUTTER”
Feather Blue simple and elegant.
It looks like “Summer Softness” to me with those luscious colors!!!
What about Peacock’s Pride? I love your fabric choices and the colors are gorgeous!
Lovely. I’m a “print-girl” can’t wait to see the entire quilt!
I’d call it Summer’s Grandeur.
The paisley and the peacock feathers are what I noticed first so I suggest The Paisley Peacock. Of course, if you want something a little less specific to the fabric pattern, how about Summer Breezes.
Love the colors…how about Summer Breezes…it reminds me of a day like today…lots of sun, crisp clouds and no humidity with a gentle breeze.
Mary- there was a comment awaiting moderation with the same suggestion (so you wouldn’t have known that…) But how funny that 2 people thought of the same exact name! It must be a good one :)
I love, love, love your fabrics!!! They’re bright, clear, fresh and even soothing to me. The finished project will be BEAUTIFUL!
As for a name… Beautiful Dreamer?
Moody Blues
Those fabrics are lovely Jacquelynne. What about “Peacock Flair”? That’s my humble suggestion!
I absolutely love the fabrics!! But then I love peacocks and their lovely blue colors!! How about ‘Peacock Blues’?
Love the colors!! How about Summer Vision???
Flights of Fancy
Luscious fabrics! Paisley Peacock is catchy.
Peacocks Downunder or Downunder Peacock.
I luv the colours n prints…just gorgeous…the Peacock feather print stands out the most …well to me anyway…. n seeing as my maiden name was Peacock, maybe its for that reason.,
If this was mine id name it “”Pride of a Peacock or Proud as a Peacock””.. Have fun choosing a name..every suggestion above seems to fit perfectly:):) ..cheers n happy crafting x
Your lovely blocks are soothing and cool. I think I would name it Calm Refreshment. Thanks for sharing your inspiration with us.
How about Summer Lovin’, since it will be summer there, and I love the prints and blocks.
How about Blueberry Swirls or Blueberry Feathers?
I am so excited to see and read your Emagazine this month. One of my BESTEST friends is Teresa Raleigh and I can not wait to see her projects! I was with her when she was creating them and she was so excited. She is one talented crafter. Thank you so much for including her!
Lovely colors and fabric. I think Birdsong would be a good name.
I love the fabric that you are using in your quilt. Too bad we have to wait until next year to see it finished. I have been thinking about a name and I always think it is hard to name a quilt. The colors remind me of fairy colors so I would call it Midsummer Dream.
Love, love the fabric. What about “Feathers in the wind”?
How about ‘Peacocks in Paradise’?
Peacock Place
Thanks for all of your suggestions! I’ll let you know when I decide on a name!
how about the Patchwork Peacock. the fabrics are fabulous
Peacock Paradise Quilt. Love this fabric!
Peacocks on Parade. Don’t know why, it just popped I to my head the moment I saw that gorgeous fabric. P
Please tell me the name and manufacturer of this gorgeous paisley peacock fabric line, and where I can get it.
I’m an avid quilter, but somehow I missed this one.😭
Thank you so much!❤
