I had a fabulous time with the Sew Along on Saturday- I hope you did too! Our international “sewing circle” that day included friends from the US, Canada, England, France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand! (Thanks to my husband for putting this fun map together!)
We ended up with a big basket full of entries for the giveaways- prizes included fabric, Aurifil thread, books and patterns.
Thanks to EVERYONE who participated! People are still posting on Facebook about the Sew Along Day, and I’m trying to keep up with the comments :) My favorite part of the Sew Along Day was seeing what you were all working on, and hearing about where you are from and the weather that day- some people were freezing, but those in Australia and New Zealand were quite warm. It made it seem like our world was just a bit smaller, and that we were all sitting together, chatting and sewing.
I’m not sure yet what I’m going to do with my Bonus (um, make that my “Surprise”) Block, since I mixed up some of the squares and it didn’t come out like the original design… I like it so much that I might incorporate it into another small quilt. Or maybe a pillow, the colors would go really well in my bedroom.

This week in the studio, I am hard at work on the Winter Issue of The Art of Home Free Emagazine. Today I’m working on a very quick Valentine’s Day project. I’ve got all my fabrics picked out. My favorite part about Valentine’s Day is that it highlights my 2 favorite colors- red and pink :)

Hi Jacquelynne,
Today my plan is to start putting together a cushion cover (UFO) which will eventually (maybe by Friday?) sit on my bed. It has a sweet centre stitchery which I embroidered using a mauve/taupe variegated Cottage Garden Thread. The feature fabric has a lovely soft mauve background featuring pink/taupe coloured roses. I’ve coupled this with a pink Bunny Hill fabric and a mauve and white dotted fabric. So fingers and toes crossed I will manage to get at least half done today??????
Hi Sarah- that sounds really pretty! I hope it comes out just the way you envisioned it. Have fun!
Hi Jacquelynne… I have two blocks of catch-up sewing to do with your BOM – I really don’t want to get behind – so I plan to stitch & sew all day Friday for that – I am so pleased with my efforts on it with the 1st 2 blocks.
Looking forward to your next e-zine!
what a great site you have….I have not started the “Sew Sweet Simplicity” yet as I am waiting till I have all 6 and then I will start to make it…..trying to finish a few UFO was my plan in the winter months…..Good time for me to make a couple things for the Fall Fair. Looking forward to the next block hugs
