Introducing: Cozy Afternoon Free Block of the Month 2015!

It’s here! It’s here!! Introducing our Free Block of the Month for 2015:

Cozy Afternoon!!

CozyAfternoonBOMButton

Our last block of the Month, Sew Sweet Simplicity,  was sooooo much fun, I hope you will enjoy this one, too!

The Cozy Afternoon Free BOM will have 5 blocks, and it will start in June and run through October. Once again, you will have the following options for making your blocks:

  • *you can just piece them
  • *OR you can applique them (hand or machine- I did machine applique)
  • *OR you can do simple hand embroidery (just 2 super easy stitches- the backstitch and French knots- plus I have a YouTube tutorial for those stitches)

I’ve made 3 samples for this, using all 3 methods above, and they all look beautiful!

You will get my easy-to-follow step by step instructions, with lots of diagrams, to make all 5 blocks and to add sashing and borders to make this quilt (finished size 66″ square):

And, I WILL have kits available to make the quilt shown above! I will  be announcing those next week, with a special introductory price (I just love a sale, don’t you??) Last time, the kits sold out quickly, so be sure to stop back next week to find out how you can pre-order your kit!

You must subscribe to receive the patterns by email!

Even if you were on the Sew Sweet Simplicity BOM list, or if you are on the Free Emagazine list,

Teacups, teapots, butterflies, flowers- these are a few of my favorite things! When I was designing this in my EQ program, I was thinking about relaxing afternoons, curled up with a cup of my favorite beverage, reading a book, doing some stitching, or watching a favorite Jane Austen movie… what’s your idea of a cozy afternoon??

I just want to thank you for the wonderful BOM’s you have given us and I really enjoy visiting your blog.

Your idea sounds good. I like to curl up with a good book and a cup of herbal tea on a rainy afternoon. Working on crazy quilting, hand quilting, applique or embroidery are also favorite activities on those days. Peace, that’s mostly what I find in those activities. Thanks for the excitement of another BOM. I’ve already sent it out on my list!

I love this design Jacquelynne! Looking forward to it very much – having a hard time deciding which fabrics I want to use though :) I’m traveling again this coming week, and my daughter is here the next two days, so I won’t have a chance to share on my blog until I return, but you can be sure I’ll post as soon as I can!

I love your idea of a relaxing afternoon, especially if it includes watching Pride & Prejudice. Thanks for making these BOMs available for us. I was moving during the last one, but I have all the patterns printed out and I hope to do them soon. I’m hoping I will be able to participate in this next BOM.

I am signing up and looking forward to this. I have to admit I am still working on the last BOM but will definitely be finishing it before this one starts. Trying to learn needle turn applique really threw me for awhile but it is getting better after watching some videos. I love your new quilt design as I am a big fan of anything tea related and have been wanting to make a quilt with teacups or teapots for a long time. This one is also at a time when it will be much better for me to keep up with it. Thank you so much for all the work you put into giving us such beautiful quilts to make.

I signed up for your free block of the month, but I have not received any so far. I thought it would start in June.
