My new fabric line is called Peaceful Pastimes. I introduced it in my emagazine last week, but I thought I’d show you a little more today.
When I was designing this line, I knew I wanted my palette to be fresh and pretty, and to include the latest Pantone Color of the Year- Radiant Orchid! We actually saw Pantone paint at Lowe’s Home Store this weekend- I don’t know if I’d do an entire room in this color, but an accent wall and accessories would sure be pretty! I also knew it would have to include my latest favorite color, orange. I have never been an “orange” person, but over the last few years I have really come to love its cheerful energy.
I was thinking about the things that I like to do that make me feel calm and relaxed- snuggling up with a good book (or watching a wonderful film adaptation), grabbing a cup of tea, cutting fresh flowers from the garden and arranging them to enjoy in my home, listening to the birds chirp outside my window, and of course, stitching! All of these things managed to work their way into my artwork for this line:
There is a panel, which would be great for quick quilts and wall hangings and pillows. It also has “cheater” quilt blocks- much fast and easier than piecing the blocks together yourself!
With this line you can make some cute purses and bags:
And of course, quilts-
And don’t forget the FREE quilt patterns which were available in the last emagazine:
This line will be delivered to stores in January 2015, and it is available for stores to order NOW. If you like it, please ask your favorite local quilt shop to carry it! Shop owners see (and miss!) so many new lines, sometimes you just have to ask them for what you want by name.
