This week I visited the ladies of the Colonial Quilters Guild in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. What a great time I had! All of the ladies were so nice and interested in what I had to share! I talked about how I design fabric, quilts, and other creative stuff.
They also loved shopping (who doesn’t??) I brought a lot of stuff (you know, you never know what you’re going to need, or what someone will want, so you have to pack everything, right?? I’m a typical girl when it comes to packing…. When in doubt…. don’t do without!!!) Thank goodness my husband was with me to help out with check out and “crowd control,” ha ha. (Fortunately- everyone was well behaved and no one had to be bounced!!!)
(If you are in the New Jersey/Eastern PA/Delaware/Northern MD area and would be interested in having me do a presentation at your guild, please contact me Jacquelynne@JacquelynneSteves.com.)
We also celebrated 2 birthdays this past weekend. We had a surprise party for my son-in-law on Saturday (I didn’t get any pictures of that- I was too busy having fun.)
On Sunday we drove to my daughter’s college about 2 1/2 hours away to celebrate her 19th! She chose to have dinner at an Indian restaurant.
She got some presents that she will really enjoy:
We saw the movie Monuments Men– How perfect that a movie about art would come out on the same weekend as my Art-History-Major-Daughter’s birthday?
Then we walked around the mall. They had a HUGE Bass Pro Shop there. Rather like a museum. Or maybe a petting zoo. I’m not sure which. (We are not hunters or outdoors-y type people at all. But it was fun to walk around.)
The girls tried out the shooting gallery:
And clowned around on the camouflage upholstered furniture:
It was a really fun day. Then we drove home 3 hours in ANOTHER snow storm.
It is snowing here again today… we are tired of SNOW SNOW SNOW! If I lived in Alaska, that would be different, but…. I don’t. Florida is sounding good. On the bright side, it’s a good day for snuggling up and working on some projects.
Hope you had a good week. Do you have big plans for the weekend? We will be shoveling out!
Oh I wish I could have been there!! Would love to shop for some of your fabrics!!! That appliqué embroidery is stunning!!
Hi Sandy! I wish you could have been there too- Maybe someday we’ll get to meet up in person! It was a lot of fun- the ladies were so nice.
I wish I was part of the crowd….
Maybe next time :)
Wow – it looks like you have been busy, but at least some of it was family fun!! And I love that picture with all the bundles of fabric from your speaking engagement….just want to run my hands through it!!
Jennifer- fabric always looks prettier when it’s bundled and there’s LOTS of it- why is that?? ha ha.
What a post! Thanks for sharing your heart!
