OK- this is my final post from International Quilt Market 2015 Minneapolis. These are all quilts which were in the exhibit Quilts: A World of Beauty presented by International Quilt Association. I have included the information signs so that you can learn all about the quilts and their makers. I think you are going to enjoy this immensely….
This quilt is aptly named Happy by Robbi Joy Eklow. I love the cheerful colors and movement in this quilt:
Tick Tock by Becky Goldsmith. I love Becky’s description of her inspiration and work process for this quilt:
Imagine by Yumiko Takami. Stunning hand applique:
The amount of detail in Joyful Heart, by Aki Sakai, is simply astounding:
I took a photo with my thumb so you can get an idea of the scale of the tiny details in this quilt. The hexies are probably about 1/2″ across at their widest point.
Dimensional flower, tiny yoyo with seed bead centers, and hand embroidered musical notes. Hand quilted:
The edge of the quilt has these dimensional flowers sewn on (see the top photo to see how many of these little flowers are sewn all around the edges of this quilt):
More details:
This final quilt, A Soft Breeze by Kayoko Hata, is my personal favorite. I love the colors, the use of the yo-yo’s, and flowers are always my very favorite:
Each individual block is bound, and the sashing and borders are made up of little white yo-yo’s. The black that you see showing through is the black display curtain behind the quilt:
Sadly, this ends our “trip” to Spring Quilt Market 2015. I hope you have enjoyed the photos, and that you have been inspired to go work your own project today, whatever that project may be!

Absolutely unbelievable gorgeous detail in these quilts!
Beautiful quilts…love the basket of flowers is my favorite…have you got a pattern for this…would love to buy it if you have one thanks
i can’t believe that ‘Joyfull Heart’ by Aki Sakai Only got 3rd place! I am Blown away from the work in this quilt. I will have to go back through your pictures and see which ones were 1st place. These inspire me to look at my projects and see what else I can do/add to them. Jacquelynn, you always inspire and challenge me!
Wow. Very inspiring. Only makes me wish my hands and fingers were younger to do the detailed type of work. Oh guess I would need more patience too. I could look at these pictures over and over. thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for sharing the gorgeous pictures and especially the close ups. I love your blog and work!
They’re amazing and beautiful and so creative! Thanks Jacquelynne, next best thing to being there!
