I made a really quick stop in at Quilt Market this weekend in Houston- arrived 9 pm Friday, left at 3 pm on Sunday! That was my shortest Market ever! But I didn’t have a booth to man, and I wanted to get home to my puppy… I love this guy so much! He’s been with us for about 4 months now but honestly I can’t remember what life was like without him!
Market never fails to inspire! And one of my favorite things about Market (OK, my favorite thing) is catching up with friends I only see once or twice a year (or less.) I should have taken more photos, but I always forget! Who has time to take photos when you’re busy chatting away?? And I only had my iPhone with me, if I’d had my good camera I probably would have been inspired to take more photos.
There was a red and white quilt exhibit!
Some vintage quilts on display- don’t you love the one with the stars! My favorite!
Lots of inspiring booths full of “eye-candy”:
Weeks Dye Works– I bought way too much wool! Too hard to resist!!
My good friend Brenda Riddle showing off her brand new line for Moda!!
Carrie Nelson of Miss Rosie’s Quilt Co.
Gail Pan from Australia
Linda Lum DeBono and I trying on red glasses which help you see the values of your fabrics. The red lenses remove the colors from the fabrics so you see them in “gray scale.” You can find them here at SewRedGlasses.com
We did a taping at the Brewer Distributors booth to promote our book with Martingale, A Flair for Fabric. This book contains projects by designers from Henry Glass Fabrics, and the designers are donating their proceeds to the Red Cross.
We were also scheduled for a bunch of signing for the book. Unfortunately, the books were stuck on a boat from China (yes literally, The Slow Boat from China)- so Martingale will ship the books out later.
So that’s it- my whirlwind weekend in Houston. So much fun, so little time!
Isn’t it amazing how much we can love a little ball of fur? So glad you got to enjoy Quilt Market, it always looks like so much fun!
Yes Lisa- I don’t know why it is? After all, these little furbabies are kind of a pain ha ha! But I love him to pieces.
Your puppy is so adorable I can see why you would want to get home to him quickly! I have a Chihuahua mix that is my constant companion. Thank you for the fun photos of quilt market. I think the red and white display would be my favorite.
The red and white exhibit was beautiful! It doesn’t hurt that red is my favorite color, either!
thank you for sending great news, you have a wonderful site…love you puppy soooooooooooooo cute….Id want to get home to him as well.. Animals are such great company and they never let you down… hugs
I love your puppy. I have a female (Bitsy) with the same colorings as yours (6 Years old). I notice the ears aren’t standing up yet (they will) Mis Bits had one up and one down for several months. What fun she is and I love her so much also! Great personality! Enjoy!!
I’ve been wanting a cutie like your small dog for ages! He looks so sweet.
Useful information. Ribbons holder awesome. Thank you sharing.
