It’s been a couple of weeks since I went to Quilt Market in Houston. Quilt Market is the industry trade show, where manufacturers, publishers, designers and shop owners get together to see what’s new! I took about 1000 photos and it’s taking me a while to organize them all! Today, I thought I’d focus on the wonderful people I met up with- some new friends, some old friends. So much fun…
I met the legendary Eleanor Burns!! Such a nice lady!
I got an autographed copy of her newest book!
This is my lovely Australian friend, Helen Stubbings of Hugs’ n Kisses! Her 2 delightful daughters joined her on this trip, and they kind of “adopted” me and let me tag along with them much of the time!
This is Missie Carpenter of Traditional Primitives. While there is much talk about the modern quilt movement, traditional patterns are alive and well in the quilting industry. There were many booths representing the traditional style. Missie’s work is just beautiful!
Debbie Busby of Wooden Spool Designs has a new book called Sew Many Notions, it’s full of darling little wool projects.
Here I am with pals Becky Jorgensen of Patchwork Posse and Christa Watson of Christa Quilts:
Australian designer Lynnette Anderson:
I stopped by the Aurifil booth, and saw the 2016 Aurifil Designer Quilt in person for the first time- it’s so beautiful!
This is my best attempt at taking a selfie with my block… I have short arms!
Beverly McCullough of Flamingo Toes and her cute new fabric line called Vintage Adventure for Riley Blake:
Melissa Mortenson of Polkadot Chair shows off her newest fabric line for Riley Blake, called Derby Day:
My new best friend, Chewbacca! LOL- he was there to promote the Star Wars licensed fabrics by Camelot Fabrics.
Keep in mind that when you travel on Halloween, you may have “Woody the Cowboy” as your desk agent at the airport…
And “Waldo” may be on your flight with you…
I’ll have more photos later! I still have LOTS of quilts and booths to show you!
I absolutely love the Derby Day quilt fabric!! Of course because I am a proud Kentuckian!!!
Hoping to someday experience this event! Thank you for sharing your photos. Will be looking forward to more!
