These are my final quilt photos from Quilt Market a couple of weeks ago. In addition to seeing all of the new fabrics and patterns at Market, there is also a large exhibit of hundreds of quilts- you could honestly spend a whole day (or more) just visiting all of the wonderful quilts on display. I had time to walk through very quickly one morning and managed to snap a few photos.
You will notice that all of the quilts below are very colorful- I guess that tells you something about what attracted me to them!
One of the displays that really caught my eye was a collection of quilts inspired by the book Out of the Box with Easy Blocks by Mary Lou Weidman and Melanie Bautista McFarland.
All of the quilts in the collection were inspired by a cow quilt in the book- they were so creative and darling and they just made me smile!
Can you choose a favorite quilt from above?!?!
….I’m sure you can see why I am so inspired to create when I get back from Quilt Market! I hope that these photos has inspired you to be creative today!
These are so much fun!! I have to say that the MOOdern one is my favorite. I normally don’t like modern quilts but this one is so whimsical and fun, and the colors are just great!!

Yes, me too, Tami! I thought they were really fun. I really want to make my own cow quilt now.

Love love the quilts (I am not able to read my emails…is causing a problem with getting the info I need for the hop)
facebook, Barbara Gaddy I still can not read my emails, I had to post your comment and then read it.
Jacquelyne,
Thank you so much for showing not only our Houston Cow quilt exhibit, MOOston, but our book as well. So kind of you to encourage others to purchase the book for the cow pattern.
We love you!
Warm regards,
Mel & Mary lou
Mwa mwa! Love you back, Mel and Mary lou! It’s a great book!
I took a workshop with Mary Lou, maybe 3 years ago now. My project is in my UFO pile. :( Not because of anything she did or didn’t do, she is such a sweet lady and good teacher, but because I get very easily distracted by shiny new objects. Tg he Red, White & Moo is my favorite!
That was the year I got to go to Houston! I vividly remember the cow quilts!
