I am really excited to share this with you! The Jan/Feb issue of Quilters Companion Magazine has recently come out, and I am so happy to be included! This is a beautiful magazine, with great projects, information and instruction. The editors at the magazine did a really lovely feature about my studio and my design work:
I also have a project included in this issue:
Many months ago, I showed you a sneak peek of the project and asked for suggestions for names. The magazine didn’t want anything seasonal, so although many people suggested putting “Summer” in the title, that unfortunately would not work. I came up with a rather simple solution- The kind of “exotic” fabric reminded me of “paradise,” and the dark blue was reminiscent of evening, so it became “Evening Paradise,” of course. It’s fairly simple and could be made by a beginner/confident beginner. The way the blocks are alternated and flipped makes it interesting, and I added white borders and sashing to keep it fresh looking.
This is an Australian magazine, and it is difficult to find in the U.S. I found a site where you can order the print magazine- click here. My sample issue from the publisher also had an instructional DVD (which plays on U.S. DVD players)- I assume that the DVD would be included in your issue as well, but I cannot guarantee that.
I also found 3 places where you can purchase a digital copy
- Barnes and Noble Nook
- Zinio Digital Magazines (single issue is very reasonably priced!)
- iTunes
I hope you will grab yourself a copy of this great magazine! Many thanks to the very nice people at Quilters Companion for inviting me to be part of this issue!
AND- Happy 20th Birthday to my baby today! She’s away at college, which means this is her first birthday that we have not spent with her, and I’m a little sad about that. We now have no more teenagers- but we have two fabulous adult daughters and a son-in-law, all of whom we are extremely proud of :) Time marches on….
Congratulations! Your quilt is gorgeous and a very Happy Birthday to your daughter!

Congratulations, on your article being in the Australian magazine. No wonder you are in there, you are a very talented designer & quilter. Love your quilt in blues & greens. Especially the white borders that you used. Makes it very clean and simple looking. Love it !! I am also doing white borders on mine, right now. Consequently, it happens to be in blues, too. All blocks are different blues, that I have in my stash. Keep up the GREAT work, Jacquelynne. Darlene….
Can you please let me know where to get these exact fabrics……its beautiful and my mum saw it and “loved It”. I would love to make it for her.
