Sew Sweet Simplicity Free BOM- Block 4 and Bonus Block 2 are here!

BlockBonus2AppliqueB_SewSweetSimplicityFreeBOM_JacquelynneSteves

Can you believe we’ve come this far! Time just seems to be flying! This month, we will be working on the final 2 blocks of the Sew Sweet Simplicity Free Block of the Month. If you’ve just found us- Welcome! You can still sign up- you will receive ALL of the previous blocks PLUS a bonus tote bag pattern. Just click here to sign up for FREE. Next month, you will get the instructions to put your quilt together.

Now, something very important to share with you- After this Block of the Month event is over next month, the pattern links will be de-activated. So- you will want to save the PDF patterns to your computer, or print them out for safe keeping (I recommend doing both! Just to make sure!) You will have until mid- to late March to save your patterns. I recommend doing it now if you haven’t done so already for all of the previous patterns. PLEASE check the FAQ page for tips on how to download and save the patterns, how to find your patterns if you didn’t get the email, etc. Then, if none of those tips work, please email meDo not leave a comment here to tell me that you have not received your block– you will get a faster response if you email. (The emails with the patterns just went out, so if you haven’t gotten yours yet, please be patient- for some reason, we have found that it can sometimes take up to 24 hours for the emails to hit some inboxes.)

And so…. On to the fun!

All of my photos were taken after the quilting was done. My long-arm quilter did a phenomenal job- I just love both of my quilts! This is my Block 4 in the appliqued version:

Block4Applique_SewSweetSimplicityFreeBOM_JacquelynneSteves

And this is my Block 4 embroidered version:

Block4Embroidery_SewSweetSimplicityFreeBOM_JacquelynneSteves

Same exact block, done with different fabrics. By the way- I have LOVED seeing all of your blocks that you’ve been posting on my Facebook page! You should hop on over and take a look- you will be inspired!

If you are making the 6 Block Quilt, you will also be working on your Bonus Block #2. Here is my appliqued version:

And here is my embroidered version:

For those of you who have been asking- yes, I am working on a new Block of the Month for 2015! This one will probably start around May and will run for about 5 months. I will also have kits available- and the fabric is GORGEOUS.

There are 2 giveaways again this month, and both are open to both US and International readers. The first giveaway is two pretty and colorful patterns:

Not for the looklike but personality, I think I cast Betty Davis. could be funny, definitely smart and sassy, and most of all hold her own against the odds. think you can guess my age. when I was young I wanted to be Doris Day, sings, dances, always gets her man, but she’s a blonde so wouldn’t work.

Absolutely love your blog! And all it entails. I am only just learning about quilting at the ripe young age of 55. I was fortunate enough to make use of the winter sales for the most of the fabric I have and I am so looking forward to my journey.. I am at the stage that you can all probably relate… BUZZING!! lol. When I read your latest blog I immediately thought of several, not by looks but how we might view these actresses. Most of these are proving very popular, Bette Davis,Meg Ryan, Barbara Streisand, Renee Zellweger, Sally Field but I am going to say Julie Walters. I believe she could play the part of absolutely anyone. Her passion empathy and sheer ability makes me believe if she wore your shoes for a day, she would have you down to a tee. I’m in UK so won’t enter for fabric and for now another the pattern would be just stored for a later time, someone else will do justice much sooner and better. More videos of dancing on YouTube would be fabulous though, loved it and you cheered me up no end. Many thanks Nancy (Agnes) Young

Probably Peggy Cass. When we were younger my cousin said I looked like her. I didn’t think so but I have a quick tongue and a sassy wit and I have been told I have a great sense of humor.

Some days it would be Lucille Ball as I feel like I’m running in place doing 100 things in a chocolate factory; other days it would be Sally Field flying above the ruckus; and let’s throw in Angelina Jolie, as that would make my family laugh!

Haven’t seen her in a lot of stuff lately – but as a child actor, Melissa Gilbert and i could have been twins.

I’ve been looking for the last 2 blocks patterns and the links only take me to more pages of links. I love this quilt, but it’s a bit hard to find on the website…or do you email each block? If so I never received it, just a link to your site. Can you direct me to the actual page please? Thanks,

I’d like Meryl Streep because I love everything she’s been in and George a looney as my husband. A girl can dream! Can’t wait to put all the blocks together, it’s been a great project.

Hmmm… When I was younger and very athletic I got told that I looked like Brigitte Nielsen (I guess I have to date myself and admit that this was during the 80s). When I was dying my hair red (it is incredibly depressing that people judge you by the colour of your hair), I got told that I looked like Gillian Anderson. As for now, possibly Zoë Wanamaker.

Your BOM is lovely & colors really make it eye catching. I’ve been reading the comments and getting a chuckle from the ‘who would play me’ idea. the reasoning behind why is great.
