Small & Sweet Mini Quilt Club starts today!!

SmallAndSweetMiniQuiltClub-BannerC

Today is the day! We are launching the Small & Sweet Mini Quilt Club! I have been working with Michele from Mishka’s Playground to bring you a fun little monthly club! Members will receive their email around noon today. (Please note- see answers to technical questions, such as didn’t get email, can’t log in, etc. at the BOTTOM of this post.)

So, here is our very first pattern! It is called Love You! The heart theme and pink/red color scheme is perfect for Valentine’s Day. You can get this stitched up really quick- in plenty of time for February 14! It includes fun and quick fusible machine applique:

In the pattern, I’ve also included instructions for making the 26″ quilt without applique. And I give you some ideas for other colorways, like this:

You will even get some “blank” outline drawings of the quilt design- so you can have fun with your colored pencils and see what it will look like with different colors!

My friend Teresa made this version. While she was testing the pattern, we realized that a few of my diagrams were off- so her colors are laid out a little different from mine. For the heart appliques, she cut out the heart motifs from her border fabric and appliqued them to the larger heart for extra interest. Don’t you love it?

Members of our Mini Quilt Club will also get, in addition to the 6 monthly Mini Quilt Patterns, a FREE Machine Applique Tutorial. This 17 page PDF booklet contains TONS of step-by-step photos, plus a practice pattern which I will walk you through step-by-step! This is a $10 retail value! Even if you are a total machine applique newbie, you will be stitching like a pro in no time with this detailed tutorial. And if you are experienced with fusible machine applique, you may just pick up a few pointers as well!

Here is a quick tip from the tutorial- have you ever accidentally “stopped short” with your stitching? You can handstitch in those last few stitches and no one will ever be the wiser! You will also receive tips for reducing the “bulk” in fusible applique, what color of thread to use, and how to use stabilizer.

Are you just “dying” to get started with us? Please click here to sign up and become part of the club!AhoyCloseUp

Finally….. a sneak peek of next month’s design! (It’s also shown in the photo at the top of this post.) It features anchors and a traditional nautical color scheme. Nautical stuff is HOT right now!! We are seeing it everywhere…. But it’s not just red, white and blue anymore- in the February pattern, I will be showing you some really “modern” colorways for the nautical theme. Don’t miss it!

Don’t forget about Michele’s Facebook group here where you can ask questions, etc. And I would love it if you would also post your photos of your projects here on my Facebook page as well!!! If you are posting to Instagram, please use the hashtag #SmallAndSweetQuilt and also tag both Michele and I so it is easier to “find” you @JacquelynneSteves  and @MishkaQuilting

have done my mini Jacquelyn but have not done the heart, have for the moment just got a plain square which I plan to probably embroider something in, thinking maybe use the same square for them all and make my mind up about the embroidery when all 6 are made, hope that is okay with you. Must master applique soon though
