This is a project that my daughter Samantha made. It is a very simple twist on this season’s favorite accessory, the ubiquitous pumpkin. Try this idea on all shapes and sizes of pumpkins and gourds. Metallic spray paint is modern & elegant, black is classic, and white or cream can add a shabby chic or cottage-y look to your fall decor. Once you start spraying, you may not want to stop…. According to Samantha, spray paint it the most valuable tool in your DIY tool box, and I’m a believer!

2. Start spraying! Try to keep the paint can as far away from the pumpkin as you can, so that the spray covers the surface lightly. It’s better to do a couple of light coats instead of a single heavy coat of paint, which may end up dripping.
3. Let dry for an hour or two and then carefully peel off the tape. Some of the edges of the paint may be loose, so press down on them with your fingers. Then, display your new autumn decor!
that looks great!!
And so easy… You should ALWAYS have spray paint in your crafting arsenal!
very cute, and like you said, so easy! Have to love that spray paint!!
Yep- amazing what you can do with spray paint…..
I love this project! We don’t “do” Halloween, but what a neat way to add fall decor to the table or mantel!
Metallics continue to be very popular- I love mixing metallics with natural materials, it’s a great look.
