Phew! It has been so stinkin’ hot! I’ve gotten outside just a little bit this week- walking early in the morning (around 6 am- but even at dawn it’s already uncomfortably sticky outside), and then later in the day I try to get out and water my garden, but that’s it! We actually helped my daughter and her husband move into their new apartment on Monday- their new apartment has central air conditioning, which is so nice because their old one had none and they were just miserable. Anyway, it was a very hot day (95 degrees and extremely humid) but we got it all done in one day- and daughter has gotten most of her stuff unpacked already. They are glad to be settling into their newer, bigger, and most importantly- air conditioned- place.
This week, I have been sitting in the studio doodling with my new Tombow markers:
I have also been working on a sample for a workshop I am teaching at a guild next week. The problem is, that even with the air conditioning, having to use the iron is making me sweat! Normally I love a lot of steam when I press- I love seeing just how flat I can get my seams, ha ha. But this week, I have been just using the cool iron, and I figure I’ll go back and press the whole thing all at once when it’s all done.
Connie over at Freemotion by the River made this really cute little table-topper quilt from my Happy Town fabric line– I think it’s so cute and cheerful!
Connie is also giving away a copy of my ebook, Child’s Play AND a digital pattern of one of my most popular patterns, called Merry-G0-Round. Make sure you stop by Connie’s blog and say Hi! (and of course, enter the giveaway!)
What are you doing to stay this cool this weekend? (Or, if you’re on the other side of the equator and it’s winter, I guess I should ask, What are you doing to stay warm??)
I just stumbled across your website and blog, and must say that I LOVE all that you have here – so many different things to explore and the stuff that you make is all GORGEOUS!
On the heat – I am definitely ready for fall at this point!! I love it when the leaves change color and the crisp morning air wakes you up (not like the humidity that smacks you in the face when you walk outside)!
Hello, Jennifer! Glad you found me :)
You know, I looooooovvvvvveeee summer- but I’m starting to realize that really it’s the beginning of summer that I love- late May and early June. I can really do without the humidity we’ve been having here! I am almost ready for fall. ALMOST….
