It’s April 1, but no April Fool’s here!! The latest issue of The Art of Home has arrived! This was a fun issue to work on, because Spring is my favorite season. And the colors and photos in this are so cheerful, it was nice to “play with” during those very cold winter days we had this year. Did you get your copy? Here’s what’s in this issue:
This was designed by my friend Sandy at Upstairs Hobby Room. It’s a nice little 22″ size, so it can fit on just about any table or even a dresser. It’s a really cool and captivating take on the traditional Churn Dash block. Love it!
This was a really fun project to work on! I had so much fun going through my collections of ribbons and buttons, and it’s also a great “upcycling” project (can you guess what the base of the pin cushion is??) By the way, those ever-so-cute decorative pins are for sale on my website! I think they just really “make” the pin cushion, don’t you? Plus, if you’re giving the pin cushion as a gift, they are a lovely little touch. They’ve been selling really quickly! I’ve ordered some more, so if the ones you want are out of stock, don’t worry, I’ll be getting more in.
A very easy and yummy snack, sandwich filling, or spread for crackers or canapes. Great recipe for entertaining!
Of course, it wouldn’t be The Art of Home without an embroidery pattern included! This is one of my favorites.
One of my favorite parts of this issue is my interview with Pat Sloan. She talks about how growing up abroad in Belgium affects her style, her favorite and least favorite part of being a designer, and what it’s like to run a business full-time with her husband. Of course, there’s lots of photos of her cute and colorful quilts:
We also have the results of the Photo Contest! The theme was Your Current Creative Project. Everyone sent great photos! It was really hard to pick just one winner, but a lot of your photos are included in the issue. Be sure to check the issue to see if your photo is there!
