I’m excited to announce our next FREE Block of the Month – The Secret Fairy Garden! This whimsical block of the month will run from July through November 2022, with new blocks released on the last Monday of the month.
When I’m planning my Block of the Month projects, the quilt design and fabrics that I use for making the sample and for making the optional kits comes down to “timing”. I have to make sure the fabrics are available in enough time so that we can have kits cut and ready for shipment, and then I have to have time to design the quilt, write and test the pattern, get samples made, plus a whole lot of other “behind the scenes” stuff…. Whew!
But of course, most importantly, the fabrics must be BEAUTIFUL!! And I think these really are gorgeous!
I think for this project the hard work really paid off – this design was inspired by the fabrics I used for the sample and kits, which feature strawberries, mushrooms, flowers, and super cute garden fairies! I created designs for the block centers that use these same elements, and then created pre-printed panels from those designs so that if you purchase our kit you have a super easy way to make this quilt!
As with our other projects, the FREE patterns will include options for you to use applique or hand embroidery – or if you purchase our Deluxe Kit you will have the pre-printed panels that you can use in the finished project. My instructions are super easy to follow, with lots of diagrams to help you to make this quilt, even if you are a beginner! The design may look complicated, but it is actually a “beginner friendly” project, and I hope that many of you will gain confidence by undertaking this fun project!
To participate, you must sign up to receive the BOM patterns via email – sign up here.
If you’d like to learn more about our optional kit, please click here. We offer the kit in “Basic” (without pre-printed panels) and “Deluxe” (with pre-printed panels) styles, so that you can use these amazing fabrics but use your favorite technique (panel, applique, or hand embroidery) when making this project.
We hope you join us for this fun project – sign up today!
