(Don’t forget about Sew Along Day on Saturday!! Maybe you will want to make these as a treat to snack on while you are sewing???? Get the information here. Please check in here on my blog at about 11:40 am Eastern time on Saturday Sept. 26 for the rules and introduction.) This event has now ended.
First, let me tell you that I did not come up with the name for this! The name on the internet where we first got this idea was a little more…. trashy than “trashy.” So we decided to clean the name up a bit for you! Why are they “trashy”?? Because when you put chocolate chip cookie dough, brownie batter, and Oreo cookies together in a single recipe- well, that’s just a bit obscene, don’t you think???
We were at the beach for my birthday, and the kids wanted to make a dessert. It had to be easy, because we have a minimum of cooking equipment at the beach house, and when you’re on vacation, you don’t really want to work that hard. And, since it was for my birthday, they felt that something rather… decadent… was in order!!
Here is what you need to make “Trashy Brownies”:
- 18 oz Tube of refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough
- 18 oz Box of brownie mix
- Ingredients to make brownies (see box)
- Bag of Oreos
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9 x 13″ baking pan with cooking spray. Press the cookie dough into the bottom of the pan.
Place a single layer of Oreo’s over the cookie base (fit them closely together).
Prepare brownie batter according to package directions. Pour over the Oreo’s.
Bake for 30-40 minutes until center is set. They will cut easier if you allow them to cool in pan.
We tried making them a second time for a party, using the Mint Oreo’s. They are UNBELIEVABLE if you serve them still warm with vanilla ice cream. I’m just sayin’….
Fabric addiction and chocolate addiction–I need a 12-step program! Thanks, Jacquelynne!
LOL- I hear you, Melanie!!
Yikes . . . These are diet brownies right? . . . . .
Yes, totally diet, Kathleen. If you are on a weight-gain diet!!!
If you eat them standing up, the calories don’t count!!!!
Now that’s à diet recipe if I ever heàrd one he he
I’ve made these before. They are SO good! You can also use a cookie mix instead of the cookie dough tube.
Great job! What a wonderful product!
