Our latest Collection for The Art of Home Club is called Woodland Christmas, and it contains instructions to make a square quilt/wall hanging, table runner, AND a small table topper.  What a great assortment of projects to make to decorate your home this holiday season! Also included are 6 little woodland “critters” ready for the winter holidays (skunk, bunny, fox, deer, owl, and bear) plus “Merry Christmas” and “Warm Winter Wishes” sentiments.

That’s right- it’s an entire collection of designs and projects that you can mix and match and have a lot of fun with!

For extra fun on the table topper and mini topper, we’ve trimmed off the corners to make things interesting- but don’t worry, we’ve got a step-by-step tutorial for doing the binding!

(You know, these cute little projects would make great gifts, too!)

For the Merry Christmas block on the wall hanging, we’ve used three different techniques. First, the insides of the letters were tinted with dry brush fabric painting, you can achieve a similar look with crayon tinting as well (tutorials for both can be found on The Art of Home Club website.) Then the letters were outlined with black embroidery floss using a backstitch. Finally, the holly leaves were machine appliqued. I love the “multi-media” look of this- so fun and interesting!

Finally- the “critter” themed designs will add such warmth to your home when used for other decor items such as place mats, table runners and pillows. You could also switch up the colors of your fabrics and make autumn projects (because the Woodland theme is PERFECT for fall, too!!) The Tips & Ideas section of this pattern collection will give you all kinds of ideas for alternate colorways and projects.  (Our Club collections always give you LOTS of ideas for using the patterns and designs!!!)
