I am working on a summer issue of The Art of Home free emagazine…. to be honest, I think I’m going to be a little late in getting it out, but better late than never, right? I have a guest designer who has come up with a really adorable project for you to make! I’ve also been working on a couple of projects (actually, it was supposed to be just one project, but I cut too many strips when I was making the first one, so I sewed them up into a second BONUS project for you!)

Pink Yellow Mini Quilt and Runner- Jacquelynne Steves

Both of the projects, plus the guest designer project, will appear in the emagazine… along with other fun goodies… so if you’re not signed up yet, please click here! When you sign up, you will get a couple of free gifts, plus a link to the archives page so you can enjoy all of the previous issues! And yes, it is completely FREE :)

(And if you have a friend who would like it, please share this post with them! There are handy-dandy buttons at the bottom of the post to make sharing easy & fun. THANKS!!)

And… thank goodness I have my “professional quilt tester” here on staff to help me out! He’s an excellent employee, doesn’t demand too much (other than some “cookies” and lots of hugs & kisses), and he never asks for a day off!Alfie Pink Lemonade Quilt Tester-Jacquelynne Steves

If you’ve been around for a little while, you know that we often have photo contests for the emagazine. We are going to have a contest for summer, and the prize will be some fabric and patterns! (yeah…. I know you like that….)

This time, please send me photos of anything you’ve made that reminds you of summer. Maybe you’ve made a quilt with bright and cheery colors, or a wall hanging featuring flip flops. Maybe you’ve stitched up a cute little summer dress or skirt. It could even be your favorite summer meal or beverage- do you make a gorgeous strawberry shortcake? An incredible pina colada? Send your photos! The theme and hashtag for this contest is #TheArtOfSummer2015.  The winning photo will be featured in the Summer Issue of The Art of Home, AND I will do a little feature about you, like your favorite hobbies, pets, stuff like that!

And – there will be a prize – because that just makes it all the more fun! My esteemed panel of judges and I (aka my daughter and my quilt tester Alfie) will choose our favorite photo. Domestic and international entries are eligible! The prize will be fabric and patterns- yay!!
